Park Cities.

A sophisticated analysis of the Dallas real estate market requires a unique perspective. Born and raised in Dallas, Tom Hughes, Founding Partner at Compass Dallas, possesses extensive knowledge of the local community and understands the intricacies of the Dallas real estate market. His primary goal is to share this perspective with his clients in order to provide them with educated investment choices while providing exemplary service.

Tom’s membership in prominent network groups such as Masters of Residential Real Estate and Network Council of Realtors allows him the inside track on market knowledge, including private transactions and important “pocket” listings in the high-end niche market. Tom’s networking and social media skills help keep his listings and buyer needs in front of the area’s top agents.

An important component of Tom’s philosophy of combining superior knowledge with expert care is his utilization of dedicated in-house staff. Each person works to provide every client with seamless customer service throughout each phase of a home sale or purchase, employing advanced technology to ensure the most reliable course of action possible.

Tom specializes in marketing homes in Dallas’ best neighborhoods: the Park Cities, Preston Hollow, Bluffview, Devonshire, Uptown, Downtown, and Lakewood. His clients also take him to Dallas’ growing suburban neighborhoods such as Southlake, Westlake, Coppell, Plano, and Frisco. He is dedicated to helping a buyer identify, analyze and purchase the ideal property.

Having graduated from Texas Tech University with a BBA in Finance Real Estate and a minor in Community and Urban Studies, Tom is well educated in the industry. Tom and Cindy have two children, Nash and Eleanor, and live in University Park. Please contact him for outstanding personal service.

What Clients Say

Trusted by Park Cities families

"Tom sold our home in seventeen days without it ever touching the MLS. He protected our family's privacy through a difficult transition and delivered a result above our highest expectation. There is no one else I would have trusted with this."

J.M.
Highland Park · Sold $12.4M

"We interviewed three of the most recognized names in Dallas. Tom was the only one who asked about our children before he asked about the house. Twenty-two months later we are on our second transaction with him. There will not be a third agent."

R. & A.S.
University Park · Two Transactions

"I have bought and sold homes in four countries. The level of discretion, preparation, and follow-through on our Park Cities purchase stands alone. Tom is an operator in a category of one."

D.L.
Relocated from London · Highland Park Purchase

"When the offer came in fifteen percent below asking, Tom didn't panic and he didn't pressure us. He walked us through the data, advised patience, and we closed six weeks later $900,000 higher. That is what two decades of experience actually looks like."

Questions about the Park Cities?

Decades of relationships inside the Park Cities — including quiet access to properties that never reach the MLS — combined with a marketing program built for the top 1% of the market. Every listing is treated as a brand launch.

Yes. My practice is intentionally small so that each client receives direct, partner-level attention. I represent sellers on their most important asset and buyers on generational purchases — never on both sides of the same transaction without full written disclosure.

I curate a private inventory of homes that owners have authorized me to show discreetly. Qualified buyers are introduced under NDA, typically after an initial conversation about their criteria, timing, and financial position.

A considered, in-person walkthrough followed by a written opinion of value. I review comparable sales, current active listings, pending off-market inventory, and the unique architectural or land attributes of your property before presenting a range.

Every property is assigned a dedicated marketing plan: editorial photography and film, a custom property website, private previews for vetted agents and principals, and targeted placements in print and digital outlets that reach buyers — not tire-kickers.

Always. Discretion is the foundation of this practice. Your timing, motivation, and financial position are never shared outside of our engagement without your written permission.

Frequently. A significant share of my clients relocate to Dallas from New York, California, London, and the Middle East. I coordinate private tours, travel logistics, and trusted introductions to attorneys, lenders, and design professionals.
